The Paynter Merchant & Mills Sewing Pattern - Tribe Castlemaine

The Paynter Merchant & Mills Sewing Pattern

$37.50

The Paynter Field Jacket, the first make-your-own jacket pattern in collaboration with Merchant & Mills.

Paynter Jacket Co. take iconic jacket styles re-making them using the best materials they can find. Highly sought after, their jackets are made to order, in limited edition batches, just four times a year, ensuring there's no waste from over production.

Paynter jackets are classic pieces that will stand the test of time and get better with age.

This paper pattern includes two woven labels, one to be positioned inside the jacket near the hip and another smaller label for the back neck. The larger label, designed by @hello.ludio , features the sun and the moon to represent time and getting lost in the practice of making. These labels are only available in the paper pattern, not PDF, and won’t be sold elsewhere.

This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including instructions for UK sizes XS-XXL.

Skill level - Advanced

Fabric suggestions -  light to medium weight wovens up to 8oz, cotton twills, denim, wool and dry oilskin. There are 9 layers to sew through during the pocket construction, so check the fabric you choose can be accommodated by your sewing machine.

Need sewing help? Merchant & Mills have made a You Tube video that takes you through the two trickier steps of the Paynter pattern, the placket and the hip pockets. You can view that video here.

For sizing Merchant & Mills recommend checking the finished measurements against a jacket that you like the fit of. If you are unsure of fit and sizing at all email them direct.
