Cohana Mini Masu Pincushions

$36.00

Simply adorable, Cohana Mini Masu, delicate little artisan pincushions from Japan.

Mini Masu literally means ‘mini box’ in Japanese, measuring just 1.5cm square, these quaint little pieces are certainly mini, fitting snugly in the palm of your hand.

With sophisticate dovetail joinery that does not require nails or glue, the wooden boxes are crafted from fragrant Hinoki Cypress. High quality linen, woven in Hamamatsu, allows needles and pins to pass smoothly through fabric. In five delightful colours inspired by nature, each pincushion has a matching glass head pin.

Drawing on 1,300 year old traditions, master craftsmen at Ohashi Ryoki create these tiny pieces of art in Ogaki, Japan, for Cohana. Priding themselves on using locally sourced, high-quality materials to create beautiful tools for crafters and artisans.

Beautifully packaged, a thoughtful heirloom gift for sewers and makers.

Handmade in Japan by Cohana.

Cohana is a Japanese brand of high quality handmade tools created by KAWAGUCHI Co., Ltd. in collaborations with local industries and artisans, utilising the traditional skills, experience and knowledge of developing handicraft tools cultivated over many years since its establishment in 1953.
