Butterfly Specimen Frames - Tribe Castlemaine

Butterfly Specimen Frames

$24.00

Real butterfly specimens, a lovely feature for your natural history display, stimulating an interest in the natural world in budding entomologists.

Sustainably sourced, supporting conservation and community initiatives, each butterfly has lived naturally and died of natural causes.

Single specimens presented in black plastic frames between two sheets of clear, flexible plastic film (not glass), which holds the butterfly in place, ready for display. The frame can be opened and the insect carefully removed, for closer study or perhaps alternative display.

Frame size 11 x 11cm.

Sold individually, choose from 9 different species.

Sourced from an ethical butterfly farm in China. The practice of butterfly farming is unique because it combines economic development and conservation. When introduced as an economic alternative to traditional farming and managed properly, butterfly farming can have a profound impact on the environment and local communities. In contrast to agricultural farming and logging, butterfly farming is dependent upon native plant species, so these farmers must keep large areas of land intact to provide food and habitat.
