Hand Dyed Indigo Kantha Quilts
$68.00
Handcrafted with care, Indian cotton kantha quilts dyed-by-hand in rich indigo blue - a lovely couch throw, single bed quilt or home decor accent.
Kantha is a type of slow stitch used in embroidering layers of fabric to create a unique wavy, textured quality. In rural India, kantha blankets are offered to guests as a seat, a place to rest their tea, or simply as an expression of welcome to the home.
Hand-stitched from recycled Indian sari cloth and then over-dyed by hand with natural indigo, revealing deep blues, greens and purples, each piece is unique.
100% cotton, standard single bed size - measuring approx 140 x 216cm.
Sold individually, you will receive a random selection from those pictured. If you have a preference please contact me, happy to accommodate if available.
Handcrafted by artisan makers in Jaipur, in the hope you will feel connected to the deep-rooted history of India's rich human culture.
Care: To ensure the longevity of these quilts, we recommend hand-washing, although you may prefer machine washing separately on a delicate cycle. As is the nature of hand-dyed indigo, some colour bleed may occur during washing, colour transfer may also occur from quilt alongside other fabrics. Dry in shade, prolonged sun exposure will fade indigo colour.
We do our best to represent items accurately, however please allow for colour variation in screens and monitors.
