White sage is burned in a ritual known as smudging, a cleansing ceremony used to rid a person, space or object of negative energy, negative thoughts or even bad spirits. Sage emits negative ions and our aura holds positive ions, through smudging we can neutralise energetic fields to cleanse and renew.
To use, ignite the tip of the bundle and let it burn for a few seconds, then blow out the flame and allow it to smoulder and smoke. Undertake your smoking, then leave the stick to smoulder in a fire proof bowl or extinguish in a fire-proof vessel of sand or soil.
Smudge sticks measure approx 10cm long x 4cm wide. Colour of string may vary, white or white and red.
