Hannakin is the creative label of Hanna Mancini, an artist, crafter, doo-whatsit and procrastinator based in Melbourne, Australia. She likes hand sewing creatures and treasures, drawing whimsical illustrations and creating other magical bits and bobs. Most of all, Hanna hopes things she creates might make someone smile.
"Growing up in a creative family, I was forever surrounded by inspiration and ideas. Dad is an illustrator, Mum was forever knitting, sewing and creating, and my older brother was usually constructing something, and we spent a lot of time drawing together.
Drawing and creating were just always a part of my life. I finished high school, and wanted to do something creative, but lacked a specific direction.I studied Visual Art at Swinburne University of Technology and graduated with a Diploma of Visual Arts in 2009.
I see myself predominantly as an illustrator, leading towards whimsical worlds and character based pieces in mostly watercolour and including collage elements, but I also like making 3D creatures and creations. After graduating I began my creative label 'Hannakin' to encompass the varying range of funny little things I do, and then to share them with the world!"
