Eco Dyed Silk Ribbon
You'll love working with this gorgeous hand-dyed silk ribbon, perfect for weaving, crochet, jewellery making, gift wrapping and any fibre based craft projects.
Recycling pure silk saris is a cottage industry run by women in villages around Bangalore, India. Each ball has it's own unique character, with width varying between 15-40mm and various sewn and tied joins. Balls weigh approx 100g and yield around 40 metres of ribbon.
The ribbon is slowly dyed by hand locally with plants and natural colour sources such as cochineal, prunus, avocado and ivy. Subtle, earthy tones are revealed with irregularities in colour throughout each ball, adding to the charm of their handmade nature.
A unique gift or addition to your crafting stash.
